The Blue Midi

Recently I came across a midi dress in the most perfect shade of blue. The pics of the dress online didn’t do it much justice but when the package arrived and I tried it on, I knew it would make the perfect addition to my dress collection….oh and the best part, it was under $30.

I enjoyed pairing this form fitting dress with a sweater jacket in complimenting colors. I love how the blue shade of the dress makes the colors in the sweater pop even more. I added black cut out booties (which elongate the legs) and simple yet eye catching accessories to finish this easy style!

I also chose a simple sweater vest to wear with this dress in a charcoal shade. The extra fabric from the vest lays perfectly over my troubled area to help conceal it (hello 4th child tummy area)!! A belt over the vest would also look great as well. I again kept the accessories to a minimum, but the gold tone jewels pop against the shade of blue. This look is easily office appropriate or perfect for a date night too!

The dress is from Old Navy (surprise) and the sweater jacket is from Macy’s Rachel Roy Line. ย I found the sweater vest at Target. My booties are by Tsubo, if you haven’t heard of them, Google them….so comfy, especially this pair (I have them in brown too). Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow my blog if you enjoy my style!

Love, Nicole

  1. I am loving this blue midi look! Midi dresses can be somewhat difficult to style and I think you did it perfectly. I’m also loving the color palette you chose to mix with this. The neutral tones are a perfect combination to the dress and it looks like a perfectly comfortable outfit for anyones closet.
